Evensong is a short and simple evening prayer service with a direct lineage back to the very beginning of Christianity, where Jesus himself led his disciples to worship through scripture, poetry and prayer.
In the English language, Evensong dates to the 1500s using elements of old monastic prayers. The long history powerfully connects present with past, tapping into something much greater than ourselves. As we come together, we join a vast community around the world and throughout history, praying and worshiping together as Christians have through the ages.
Our vision is simple and scriptural: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chron 7:14)
We gather the last Sunday evening of every month at 6pm to look forward in faith and expectation for the Lord to move in our lives, in our church and throughout our land.
